Sunday Service with Preceptor Ceremony

In 2012 PSZC started a precepts program as a way for practitioners to formally dedicate themselves to the Buddhist path. Today we will acknowledge our 3rd preceptor class. Our Abbot is dedicated to PSZC serving as a place of practice for decades to come; that it will be a vital part of the Seattle Buddhist mahasangha; and that it will be a cornerstone of our island community. In order to have that vision realized, we have to develop a core of dedicated practitioners who are in this for the long haul.

Our new preceptors will join the others in helping Abbot with leadership tasks and ceremonies, and will occasionally represent the Zen Center to the community. They also form an Abbot Advisory Group.
