Membership at the Puget Sound Zen Center
We invite you to become a member of the Puget Sound Zen Center.
Membership is so much more than a donation. The Zen Center provides an opportunity to learn and deepen your practice, in a supportive community. Here is a space for the transformation and healing of self and society. Your commitment to membership is a tangible way to support this work while nourishing your personal practice. In giving, you practice generosity and foster the growth and well being of others.
Becoming a member does not mean you have to be a Buddhist. It means you see the Puget Sound Zen Center as a community of importance to you.
Your support makes a difference
Membership dues make it possible for the Puget Sound Zen Center to continue to offer programs and practice opportunities, online and in person. Dues help us pay the costs of owning and maintaining our Center on Vashon Island and renting space in West Seattle.
Membership benefits include discounts for retreats and programs, and access to the Members section of the website. Members can borrow books from our extensive library, and have 1:1 sessions with our Abbot or other teachers, in person or online.
As a member, you also have a voice in the development of our Zen community: a vote at the membership meetings, and the opportunity to serve the sangha on committees or on the Board.
Membership dues and donations are tax deductible, as the Puget Sound Zen Center is a 501(c)(3) organization. Tax ID: 43-1986006

Support PSZC with a donation from your estate. Our Planned Giving donors join the Salix Circle.

We recommend wearing loose-fitting clothes and shoes that you can easily slip off and on (for walking meditation). We have meditation cushions, benches and chairs for your use, but if you prefer, you can bring your own. We encourage you to wear whatever makes you comfortable and helps facilitate your practice.
No worries! In addition to cushions, we also have stools, kneeling benches and chairs available. We want you to be as comfortable as possible during meditation.
