10 AM – Saturday Seminar – Richard Salomon PhD – Biographies of the Buddha

PSZC continues its Saturday Seminars with another preeminent scholar of Buddhist history and literature: Dr. Richard Salomon. Professor Salomon is Professor Emeritus of Asian Languages and Literature at the University of Washington. He was recently elected a 2021 Fellow of the Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is the author of several books, including “The Buddhist Literature of Ancient Gandhara” (2018).

Professor Salomon will give an overview of biographical stories about the Buddha, and will also show us some recently discovered biographical texts from the Gandhara region.
