10am – 12pm Sunday Service: Jonathan Prescott

Our Sunday service consists of chanting, two periods of sitting meditation, and a dharma talk.

Jonathan Prescott, an ordained student of Thich Nhat Hanh and a chaplain, pastoral counselor and founder of Wise Caregiving will join us in person and give a dharma talk today on the September theme of Patience and Diligence.

Later this afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, he will be the guest speaker for an Island-wide session offered by the Vashon Care Network (www.vashoncarenetwork.org) for caregivers and all of us who will receive or give care sometime in our lives. He will engage us in “A Wise Conversation about Balance and Boundaries.”  This talk will also take place in the zendo.

As many of us know from first-hand experience, caregiving can easily lead to stress and burnout and can strain even the most resilient person. The session will provide practical suggestions for reconnecting with your innate wisdom, compassion and joy. Please help spread the word and save the date.
