Ordination is a lifelong commitment to the dharma. It is a chance to mature one’s practice over a long stretch of time with the help of a teacher and a sangha.
Please join us as Stephen Black and Elizabeth Fitterer are ordained as lay Rinzai Zen Monks. They will now formally represent the Zen tradition and their home temple, PSZC.
The ceremony will take place on the Zen Center land, just north of The Harbor School at 15816 Vashon Highway SW. You are welcome to join in person or to Zoom in. If you intend to join us in person, and we hope you can, please register here so that we can have enough cushions and chairs for all participants. In-person attendees must be fully vaccinated. Registered attendees will be asked to sign in, attesting to their fully vaccinated status.
If you would like to picnic afterwards please bring food for yourselves.
