10am-12pm – Sunday Service with Dharma Talk (Ann Cutcher – The Journey to Enso House)

January 31, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free
The front of Enso House.

Dr. Ann Cutcher is the director of Enso House, a hospice house associated with the Tahoma One Drop Zen Monastery on Whidbey Island. She first encountered Zen many years ago as a young apprentice to a master potter in Japan, where she met and sat zazen with Shodo Harada and Daichi Zenni, who were then practicing at Shofukuji under Rinzai teacher Mumon Yamada Roshi. Years later Shodo Harada Roshi founded the Tahoma One Drop monastery, and was inspired to envision a hospice associated with the monastery.  They called Ann from her medical practice in Tucson to help establish the hospice, and she has been its director now for 17 years.  Here she tells stories from that journey
