12:00pm-4:00pm – Buddha Birthday Bash

On Sunday, 9 May, celebrate Maya’s birth of Siddhartha Gautama, some 2500 years ago, in the Lumbini Gardens of northern India.

Bring the family, and take a stroll or a picnic out on the land and visit the baby Buddha in his flower house. We have a new Baby Buddha figurine, a traditional one of the infant standing on a lotus altar, with one hand pointing to heaven and the other down to the earth.  Offer incense and wash the child, a tradition commemorating his first seven steps, thought to represent the seven directions.

Please remember to wear masks and practice social distancing. Come anytime between noon and 4pm. This will occur on the Zen Center land just north of Harbor School.
