7:00pm-8:30pm-New Year’s Eve Celebration
December 31, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Although sadly there will be no bonfire, luminaria on the kinhin path, or sharing hot cider – we can still be together (on Zoom) on New Year’s Eve.
We’ll repeat our early Zoom service schedule from last year:
We’ll start at 7:00pm Friday evening, with a greeting and time for reflection on what to let go of from 2021, and intentions for 2022 (pick up your New Year’s card at the Zen Center- see below)
The service will include a reflection from the Abbot, some zazen, poems, music from Eva Cain, and end with the traditional ringing of the 108 bells. Happy New Year and good night at 8:30pm!
– If the spirit moves you, decorate your home altar with cedar branches and candles, to evoke our past New Year’s Eves together.
– Bill Jarcho has made wonderful cards again for the New Year. If you are in town, go by the Zen Center and pick one up. They are in a tub under the big porch by the double doors, next to the Jizo. The driveway and parking lot are not too bad, if negotiated cautiously.
