Spring Sesshin – The Life and Stories of Bodhidharma

During this retreat we will look at some of the legends, stories, koans, and rituals that feature Bodhidharma, and see what lessons are relevant for our lives today.
The sesshin will take place both in-person and on Zoom at/from the new Zen Center.
Wednesday – Saturday the schedule is as follows
6:30 Tea and zazen
7:30-9 Breakfast and break
9-10 Zazen, kinhin
10 Dharma talk
10:45-12 Zazen with dokusan
12-1:30 Lunch and break
1:30-2:30 Work practice
2:30-3:00 Qi gong
3:00 – 3:30 Zazen, kinhin
3:30 – 4:00 Tea and chanting
4:00 -5:30 Zazen with dokusan
5:30-7 Dinner and break
7-8:45pm Dharma talk and zazen
8:45 Closing
Koshin and Genko will be co-teachers for this sesshin.
The sesshin will be non-residential. For out-of-town in-person participants, a number of sangha members have offered their spare rooms. Please contact shuko@pszc.org if you need accommodation.
Morning and evening meals will be provided – participants will be asked to bring a sack lunch each day. Simple vegetarian food will be served. While we cannot accommodate food preferences, please let us know at programs@pszc.org as soon as possible if you have a serious food allergy.
The daily schedule will run:
– Tuesday 12 April. 7-8:30pm. (Registered participants will meet at the Zen Center or on Zoom)
– Wed- Saturday 13-16 April. 6:30 am- 8:45pm.
– Sunday 17 April- 6:30 am- 4:30pm
Dokusan will be offered by Koshin in person and Genko via Zoom.
Fourteen seats are open for in-person participation (Zoom is open to all).
Full-time participation is encouraged. Half time participants can sign up for a minimum of 2 1/2 days, either
– Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until lunch, or
– Friday after lunch, Saturday, and Sunday
