All are welcome to join this special annual summer sit to view the Full Moon rising. The location is Sunrise Ridge, up behind the SeaMar Clinic on Vashon. The Full Moon (30 August), a Blue Moon (2nd Full Moon in a month) and a Super Full Moon is scheduled to rise at 8:00pm on that Wednesday night. RYAKU FUSATSU (Full Moon Ceremony) is an ancient ceremony still observed monthly by many Zen communities on the night of the Full Moon. The focus is on the renewal of vows. Let’s gather in the field behind the Seamar clinic, near the Food Bank, at 8pm. We’ll join in a brief ryaku fusatsu ceremony, and then sit and walk in silence under the moon. Some meditation cushions will be provided, but bring lawn chairs or blankets if you wish. Be sure to bring warm clothing, flashlights, and mosquito repellent. Free. No registration.
