8:30 AM Enlightenment Day Service
December 8 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am
Please join us for our Enlightenment Day services on Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8.
As the story goes, the night before his enlightenment, the Buddha sat all night under the bodhi tree, until he saw the morning star and came to a great realization.
We sit all night, from 10 PM to 7AM the next morning. From 7:15 – 8:15 we have breakfast. There is a ceremony commemorating the Buddha’s enlightenment at 8:30 on Sunday, Dec 8. You’re welcome to join us for any and all parts of this night/morning. Feel free to come and go as you need. Those who sit all night welcome and appreciate the energy of new people dropping in (IN-PERSON AND ON ZOOM). Formal tea will be served during the night.
During the night, we typically sit for 25 minute intervals and then walk outside, weather permitting.
