8:30AM – 4:30PM Mukai Farm Summer Day Sit-In the Field Beyond Wrong and Right
July 31, 2021 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
$20 – $45REGISTRATION LINKS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE
In-person and Zoom day sit, Saturday July 31st, 8:30am-4:30pm, Mukai Farm and Gardens, Vashon.
The 13th century mystic Rumi asks us to meet him in the field that is “out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing.” In the same century, in the Mumonkan, Huineng, the 6th Ancestor of Zen, says: “Think neither good nor evil. At his very moment, what is your original self?”
It is our challenge to find the field beyond wrong and right, evil and good. That is the place of possibility and awakening.
We will be sitting together for the first time in 16 months. We are honored to be able to sit in the Mukai House- an integral part of Vashon history. The house, Japanese garden, and strawberry farm was home to the Mukai family from 1926-1942.
We will be sitting, spaced to the extent possible, in the large living room of the Mukai House, with doors and windows open, and on the adjoining outside verandah.
Covid protocol: The PSZC Board approved guidelines for in-person sitting for the Mukai Day sit. The guidelines can be found on the website here.
