A Poem About Qigong
by student Elizabeth Fitterer
You remember vaguely,
the circling.
How simple it is,
yet how intricate.
Like, if you were a bird,
this is how you might move.
Like a creature who,
when she has someplace to go,
picks herself up then goes there.
And when she lands
she folds herself into herself
in just a few well-rehearsed motions.
And when she sleeps
the rain beads right off of her feathers
like tears she doesn’t need anymore.
